E-Bike - The New Trend on the Block

As people around the globe are becoming mindful of the environmental impact of fossil fuel, they are looking for alternatives. The automobile industry’s R &D departments are racking brains to find better alternatives that can reduce carbon emission and yet make vehicular movement better and smoother without compromising on any other aspect. The Electric Cycle is a boon for urban people because conventional modes of transport often get stuck on busy thoroughfares due to heavy traffic congestion. It is far more convenient to maneuver the roads or even take narrow lanes and by-lanes to reach one’s destination by using these cycles.

Lithium rechargeable batteries are used in these Electric Cycles that can last for two to four hours at a stretch and can travel for 30 to 40 km without recharging. Both the Electric Bikes and Electric Cycles are very lightweight and require minimum maintenance. These Electric vehicles take the same amount of space as traditional bikes and bicycles.

Preference for Electric Bikes and E-Cycles as modes of transport
In the West, there is a rising trend among the masses to use E cycles and Electric Bikes as their preferred mode of transport. According to a study, China leads the world in E-Bike sales. This is followed by the Netherlands and Germany. There has been a surge in the demand for electric bikes in Europe and North America. Other cities are also following the trend and encouraging the use of Electric bicycles in cities. This can reduce the use of cars and thereby help in reducing carbon emission in the atmosphere.

Use of Electric Bikes in Delhi
The young and trendy urbanites in India are gradually responding to the electric bike as a mode of transport enthusiastically. In fact, in Delhi, where traffic during peak office hours can be a nightmare for most commuters, the E - Bike in Delhi can be a trend-setter. Large scale use of the Electric Bike will also reduce the pollution level, the capital is so renowned for. The E-Bikes can be used by delivery personnel for fast home delivery of food and other items from one part of the city to the other. The Delhi Police personnel can use the E-Bikes for patrolling and reaching out to the farthest corners of the city more conveniently. In other words, our future lies in Electric Bikes and Electric Cycles.
